I'm Still Here!

I am still here even though I haven't posted for about three weeks now. Here is a little update of what I have been up to.

On April 30 my parents came to visit us in Ann Arbor and see Ben graduate. The next day Ben's parents and brother Logan flew in and stayed for awhile.

Ben graduated from The University of Michigan Law School on Saturday May 3rd; it was an exciting day and also really strange to be done with school. Ben did well in law school and I am so proud of him!

While our parent’s were visiting we went to Kirtland where it rained all day. It was a long day but we enjoyed seeing the sights and visiting the John Johnson Farm. We also went to the Henry Ford Museum and had a good time there. Then on Tuesday May 6 we finished all of the last minute packing and loaded our entire apartment into an 8x8x16 POD container. We were not sure if our stuff would fit into the small space but with some strategic packing it did! We had so many people help us load our truck and were grateful for all of our friends!

The next day we left Ann Arbor with Madeline in the car and Jacob and David flying in airplanes with grandparents. We drove to Denver and stayed for two nights with the parents of our friends from Michigan, the Woodward’s. We spent a day in Denver looking at different areas and neighborhoods and deciding where we want to live. We were very lucky to have people to show us around and help us learn about the area. Finally we drove to Utah where we are now and have started to settle in a bit.

I have felt very blessed over the last few weeks to have so many wonderful friends and family. We have had so much help preparing for our move, helping us move, helping us find a place to live in Denver, and watching our kids. I loved our time in Michigan and I was really sad to leave our friends there. I am also looking forward to the adventures that lay ahead of us.

In other news, David’s birthday was two days ago and we had a little party for him. I made him a bus cake as one of his favorite things to say is “I see a bus”. He got a little swimming pool, a bike helmet, squirt guns, a “computer” and a ball. What more could a kid ask for?

I am so excited for you guys as you move on to new things! So did you find a good area in Denver, or will there be more trips out there this summer?

I'm so glad you have a blog! We miss you so much already! Although I'm sure Jacob will be happy that I won't mistake him for Asher anymore... :)

congrats to ben, that is so awesome! it must be so weird to be done with school. i can't even imagine that as i am currently in the process of doing tom's dental school application for the second time. oh well. i'm glad you guys made it to utah safe and sound. we need to do something when i'm there in a few weeks, it'd be fun to get together with all the high school people. i'll be there may 28-june 9th so we should definitely go to lunch or something!

I was bummed that I didn't get to talk to you yesterday. We will hopefully get to see you while you are in Utah.

I'm glad all is settling down for you and you guys have found some good areas to live. We wish Ben luck on studying for his boards! Brittani misses Jacob and has now realized you guys "are not coming back." But I told her maybe we could visit you guys someday- so that made her happier. I love David's cake- so cute! We'll call you when we get back from AZ!

I'm glad that you were able to get a feel for the Denver area and wish you luck as you figure out housing! Both my mom and my sister said they had fun having you guys there.

We really miss you guys--our courtyard is so boring now! At least we'll get to visit you in Colorado in the future!

I can't believe you guys are done. It seems like you just left. What an achievement to you and Ben. It is so nice to get on with life, even with the student loans. Can't wait to see you guys.
