Shopping

I don't go shopping very often because it never is that enjoyable with three kids following along, I should say hopefully following. This morning a wonderful and strange thing happened, I was at the mall before the stores opened with only a baby. It was so nice to not have two little boys with me! Jacob had Joy school and David was at his friend Christian's house. I decided to go do a little shopping and use some gift cards while I had a few hours with just Madeline and I. It was wonderful and I wish I had had more time. I bought myself some body spray from Bath and Body Works and a shirt for Madeline from Gymboree. I could not believe how expensive the clothes at Gymboree were, there were so many CUTE clothes and I ended up choosing a darling shirt, but wanted more. It would be great to have unlimited money and buy a lot of cute clothes for my kids, maybe someday when I don't have kids at home anymore I will be able to afford the clothes, now I understand why my grandma has closets and closets of unworn clothes, she can afford it!:)

Actually last week I read a great book called "It's All Too Much" by Peter Walsh. He is the guy from TLC's show Clean Sweep. The book was an organizational book about getting rid of clutter in our lives and homes and how we will be able to live a more fulfilled life if we don't have so much stuff that really just sits there and is junk. The book motivated me and I have been getting rid of a lot of stuff around our house. It is great preparation for our move! So if any of you would like to get rid of your stuff or feel you have too much unneeded junk you should read the book. Or you might read the book and then feel like you have to much stuff. Either way, it is a good read!

I totally want to read that book - I love to de-clutter. I'm glad I could assist in your testosterone-free shopping experience!

This is really random and I don't normally do this but I had to let you in on a little secret. I just happened to be blog surfing and came across your blog through Camille's. I couldn't help but notice that you love Gymboree clothes. I love them as well, but they are expensive unless you know their little system. Never pay full price for anything! They have great sales, and regularly have coupons for up to 30% off. During some of the sales througout the year, you can typically purchase clothes and earn GYMBUCKS. Depending on how many you earn, you apply the gymbucks during the redemption period and can save a lot of money. Anyway, just thought I'd share a tip with you :) A lot of my kid's clothes are from Gymboree, but I end up paying only a little more than what I may pay for a shirt or pair of pants from Target, but they are much higher quality and last a long time. I have 3 girls and a lot of our Gymboree clothes from my first, still work for our third. Amazing!

Amen about Grandma's closets! Maybe someday right?! Glad you got to get some shopping in. I don't ever go to Gymboree because we can't afford it either, but they have really cute stuff! I'm a fan of The Children's Place outlet! It's the best! When do you guys move?

i agree, gymboree is so cute but sooo expensive. i don't know if i could ever spend that much money on baby clothes, even if i had the money. kids grow so dang fast! BUT i did just get sophie's swimsuit there, it was on sale and i LOVE it.

and i'm also in the process of trying to declutter... hoping to send tons of stuff to d.i.

Thanks for the book tip. I am so not into keeping things that you don't use but you do get in a rut and just accumilate (spelling ?) so much STUFF. How fun to shop at the mall.

It's such a beautiful thing to actually be at a store with only one child! Just think how hard we thought that was when we had only one child! So nice!
