Star Wars, Shoes, and Sand!

Our life recently has consisted mostly of STAR WARS, SHOES, and SAND.

STAR WARS: Jacob went to a STAR WARS birthday party a few weeks ago and ever since he thinks STAR WARS is the best thing ever. Yesterday he came in and asked Ben and I, "Is there anything that is cooler then a light saber?" Good question, I don't think there is. We borrowed the movies from some friends and Jacob would spend all day watching them if I would let him. He already knows a ton more about the story than I do, although that is not hard considering I have only seen two of the movies. I think I will have to break down soon and watch the movies so I can know what he is talking about and learn all of the characters that he is referring to now.

SHOES: David has recently developed a little SHOE fetish. He loves putting on SHOES whether they are his, Jacob's, mine, Ben's or even Madeline's(those don't fit very well, they are mostly toe covers) Consequently, there seems to be SHOES all over our house! He puts on one pair for awhile and then soon discards those for a different pair.

SAND: There is SAND ALL OVER our house due to the STAR WARS play and SHOE fetish. Let me explain; Jacob plays STAR WARS outside with his friend, they each get a light saber and fight each other running all over. We have a large SAND box in front of our house so of course they run right through the SAND often. Then David treks outside with a few different pairs of SHOES each day and brings the SAND in with each pair. I feel like I am always sweeping up SAND and it is never gone. It has even made its way into our sheets, I love getting in bed and feeling sand!:) I hope the boys are enjoying their STAR WARS and SHOES as I spend so much time cleaning up their SAND, Ah the life of a mother, I'll sum it up with two words, SWEET and STRESS!

That is so funny! Hector and Caleb just returned from ShopKo where they were purchasing another white vader (storm trooper) for Caleb. We give Caleb a sticker on a chart for every night he reads a book and every 10th sticker he gets a small toy. Today marks the 4th White Vader for him. We will have to have a star wars party for our boys when you come back for the summer!

So cute! I guess since the boys are tracking sand in, that must mean there's no more snow, so that's good! I really liked your easter pics, especially of Madeline with her chocolate face! How's your foot? OUCH!

Your Star Wars journey is just beginning girl! I agree with David's shoe fettish - I've seen it first hand at my house! I'll miss those boys!

I can't believe you've made it this long without seeing the Star Wars movies. Ben must not be into them much, because Kenneth was all about Star Wars for quite a while. There are actually a lot of great spiritual messages you can draw from them, though believe it or not! I can relate to the sand thing and the shoe thing too. I'm happy it's warming up, though! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Um, sorry about the Star Wars thing. There are about 6 boys running around up here with light sabers every day after school (and before) so send Jacob up if he needs some new people to fight. I've never seen Return of the Jedi, but I fake my way through. I hate the sand too! And I bought a new pair of running shoes today. They were pricey!

Michelle,
This comment is for Ben. We don't have any fun pictures of Brian and I because all of our fun pictures are on our laptop, and our power cord is broken. I'm taking it to my friend to find out if we just need to buy a piece to fix it or if we have to buy a new one. So, until we get it taken care of, he'll have to wait on the pictures because we never do anything fun worth taking pictures. He'll probably see us before we take care of it. SORRY BEN!!

How different life would be as the mother of boys. My life consists of pigtails, princesses, and Polly Pockets. I think Star Wars sounds more interesting.

This was great! We have sand everywhere now too and it is driving me crazy. I have to wear slippers when my shoes are off so I don't realize how much of the outside I have let come in with us! Thanks for the book recommendation. I put it on hold at the library.
