We went and watched Ben run by at about mile 21. Here he is running by and looking strong. The kids liked to watch for dad and see him racing.
Here he is after the full 26.2 miles. Ben said you can't forget the last .2 because it is the hardest. The first half of the race was in rain which helped contribute to the bloody nipples you see. There were a lot of men running with bloody nipples. Poor guys!
The kids didn't really want to pose for the picture, but here is the attempted family shot.
Jacob wanted to practice his photography skills with Ben's shirt and medal. Not too bad for a 6 year old.
Ben and I decided to run this race together last December and then 2 days later I found out I was pregnant. I am proud of Ben for doing it on his own, but some year we will do one together when I am not 7 months pregnant!

Congrats to Ben...what a great accomplishment!! You are running your own marathon.
That is so cool! I wish that my knees would allow me to be a runner. I have been banned by my doctor from being a runner! :( I saw that you guys made it to the 10 year reunion picnic. Thats great! I totally wished that we could have made it! Did you go to the dinner the night before too? How was it? Oh, and what did Ben get the medal for?
um, bloody nipples?? OUCH! that one fact alone made me confirm that i will never run a marathon. these babies have enough problems due to nursing.
wow. that was WAY too much info right there. but come on. bloody nipples.
nonetheless i am very impressed that ben ran the 26.2 miles! that is hugetime. and i can't believe you're already in your 7th month of pregnancy. also, i hope you didn't leave utah without calling me!!
You should try nipple guards. They sell them at running stores. Way to go!
