Sleepy Kids

This past week I have taken some pretty funny sleeping pictures of the kids. They play so much every day that sometimes they just crash!

Jacob and David are sleeping in a bunk bed now. Jacob is pretty excited about having a bunk bed and David is doing well at staying in bed(we are glad he doesn't know how to open doors yet:) The boys sometimes play together before they go to sleep, this night Jacob forgot to go up to his bed before he fell asleep.

Madeline falls asleep a lot still but I thought it was a funny picture with her is the jumper and her cousin Claire wondering what was going on.

Two nights ago Jacob came in our room because he was having a bad dream where he was in a store and a Cheetah was walking towards him trying to get him. While he was in our bed Madeline woke up to eat, I fed her and then just laid her on the floor because I didn't want to take her back to her room at 7:00 and chance waking David up(all three kids share a room) I came back later that morning and found Madeline's head under the bed, you can barely see it. Luckily I pulled her out before she woke up and banged her head on the bed. Sleep is such a funny part of life because everyone needs it and it takes up so much of our lives, if I get enough sleep life is good if I don't, life is not so good. I hope you are all getting good sleep and that life is good!

I'm Still Here!

I am still here even though I haven't posted for about three weeks now. Here is a little update of what I have been up to.

On April 30 my parents came to visit us in Ann Arbor and see Ben graduate. The next day Ben's parents and brother Logan flew in and stayed for awhile.

Ben graduated from The University of Michigan Law School on Saturday May 3rd; it was an exciting day and also really strange to be done with school. Ben did well in law school and I am so proud of him!

While our parent’s were visiting we went to Kirtland where it rained all day. It was a long day but we enjoyed seeing the sights and visiting the John Johnson Farm. We also went to the Henry Ford Museum and had a good time there. Then on Tuesday May 6 we finished all of the last minute packing and loaded our entire apartment into an 8x8x16 POD container. We were not sure if our stuff would fit into the small space but with some strategic packing it did! We had so many people help us load our truck and were grateful for all of our friends!

The next day we left Ann Arbor with Madeline in the car and Jacob and David flying in airplanes with grandparents. We drove to Denver and stayed for two nights with the parents of our friends from Michigan, the Woodward’s. We spent a day in Denver looking at different areas and neighborhoods and deciding where we want to live. We were very lucky to have people to show us around and help us learn about the area. Finally we drove to Utah where we are now and have started to settle in a bit.

I have felt very blessed over the last few weeks to have so many wonderful friends and family. We have had so much help preparing for our move, helping us move, helping us find a place to live in Denver, and watching our kids. I loved our time in Michigan and I was really sad to leave our friends there. I am also looking forward to the adventures that lay ahead of us.

In other news, David’s birthday was two days ago and we had a little party for him. I made him a bus cake as one of his favorite things to say is “I see a bus”. He got a little swimming pool, a bike helmet, squirt guns, a “computer” and a ball. What more could a kid ask for?
